Welcome to the new CompUSA! We are thrilled you are here, and we hope you tell your friends that we are officially back.
We should probably point out the obvious — things are much different now in 2016 than they were back in 2007. It would be silly to compete directly with Best Buy and Amazon, and a waste of time to take a half-measure like opening up a vending machine in the airport or a pop-up store in the mall. So, instead of any of that, we are going to help you find the absolute best offers every day. Think of us as your personal tour guide for this new e-universe.
We have assembled a savvy army of experts who are combing retailers every day to find these offers. They are curating and cataloging everything they find that is worthwhile, and even grading the deals on a 0-100 scale. That way, you can tell the difference between the pretty good “B+” deals, and the “A+” offers that you need to BUY RIGHT NOW! (see more on grades here)
Finally, we want you to understand a bit about our business. We hope that if you understand where we are coming from, you will understand why do certain things.
First, like almost every site out there, we have banner ads. We do this to make money. We have a great team in place to help keep things in check and ensure that you won’t need a supercomputer to load the page. If you click on one of those every once in a while, that would be great for us. At the very least, we would appreciate it if you kept your ad blocker turned off for our site.
Second, for a lot of the deals that you will find on the site, we will be collecting some form of a commission. These commissions may impact the visibility of an offer, but THEY WILL NEVER IMPACT OUR GRADES! (Click here for more on that discussion)
Finally, we are working on a predictive system that we think is very cool. We can’t give too much away in this introductory email, but if you’ve ever used Netflix, you have seen what we’re going for. At a very high level, we want to understand and predict whether you are more interested in an A+ offer on an HP computer, an A- offer on a Mac, a B+ offer on a huge Samsung TV, or a C- offer at Popeye’s Chicken. If you don’t want to participate in this, we make it very easy to opt out in your user profile. However, we hope you trust us in saying that we’re doing this to help create a better experience for you, and to help you eventually intuitively discover more relevant offers.
